I try to take a walk around lunchtime every day when the weather permits. While this provides me with much-needed physical activity, it also takes me through public footpaths between villages and fields. Yesterday, I came across this pink rag doll propped up on a hedgerow in the middle of nowhere!

Wildflower Diaries – Sainfoin
Sainfoins (Onobrychis viciifolia) belong to the pea family (Leguminosae/Fabaceae). My trusted Collins Complete Guide to British Wildflowers tells me that these are generally found in dry, calcareous grasslands, which is exactly where I found these growing!

Gold, Grey and Purple
Down in South Cambridgeshire (near Duxford), a field left fallow by a Public Footpath. Now covered in golden strands of grass seeds.
